Innovation Norway awards KONGSTEIN with advisory agreements for two High Potential Opportunities (HPO) export initiatives.

We are pleased to announce that Innovation Norway has awarded KONGSTEIN with advisory agreements for two High Potential Opportunities (HPO) export initiatives, which include Offshore Wind Europe and Hydrogen Northern Germany.

KONGSTEIN, one of the key players, is now an official partner in both offshore wind and hydrogen investments. The awarded contracts are specifically in Offshore Wind Europe in partnership with Norwegian Offshore Wind Cluster and NORWEP; and in Hydrogen Northern Germany in partnership with Kjeller Innovation (H2 cluster) and Thema Consulting.

Andreas Opstad Strand, our VP of Business Development, is very pleased with the initiatives: “Norway must get out of the comfort zone we have been in on oil and gas, and out into the world. It is the new, green industries that will provide the jobs of the future. Here, we look forward to contributing with KONGSTEIN’s experience and expertise”.

The High Potential Opportunities (HPO) is an export program of four to six years that will assist Norwegian companies to win international commercial contracts with a value over 500 million NOK. The goal is to support the exports of Norwegian business through different initiatives.

Firstly, the Offshore Wind Europe initiative will open doors for Norwegian companies to export their expertise to European offshore markets especially in France. Starting 2023, the French authorities will offer licenses for a total of 1 gigawatt (GW) per year for either bottom-fixed or floating wind capacity.

Secondly, the Hydrogen Northern Germany initiative will allow Norway to export its maritime know-how to the German northern states, in particular, in green hydrogen economy. Several important projects will be developed with local partners, for instance, AquaVentus, with whom KONGSTEIN is a proud founding partner.

At KONGSTEIN, we are proud to play a central role in the work to increase the export of Norwegian contractors and suppliers in the offshore wind and hydrogen markets and be the advisory connection between different partners.

“We are happy to extend our cooperation with Innovation Norway and strengthen even further our trusted relationship that we have been building together over the years”, states KONGSTEIN’s CEO Torgeir Nærø.

The KONGSTEIN team has already rolled its sleeves and ready to start on these exciting initiatives coming ahead.
